NEWS & REPORTS

Ducks season last day

One day the game is over. One day the last group of the season departures, and we see them taking away in the airport land trip and a silence is around all of us. Our head guide, Martin, one of our guides and gun experts, Federico, one driver and myself look each other and we know we are ready for a coffee at the airport. “It was a great season” says Martin braking the ice; we all know it was not easy and we had complications with the weather early in the season, and that the first frost had arrived on a 5th of June, when normally happens early may. Weather affects ducks, no doubts about it; and we had made an extra effort to provide good hunts.

We keep in our mind great memories for this season, like Tim Danis and George Cochran visit; two great friend of us, that were the first ones to come visit us in San Javier Lodge. Then we enjoyed a lot with good friends as Ramsey and Anita, Tom, Bob, Lance, Robert, Richard, and many more friends. We had people coming from Texas, Louisiana (we have many koonass friends) California, north east US, North Carolina, Georgia, in between other estates.

One of the issues this season was the flood. The river was higher than normal in late July and Auguts. It was like five meters higher than normal, and farmers had to take their heads of catle out of the islands. That was an issue for some of our hunting spots. We had to hunt on the Cañadas and lagoons during 3 weeks, and despites we were not lucky one day with Bill Group (guys from Nevada) we are able to say that we had a very good season, and we have already some request. We expect to have some fun again with Tommy (Houston), Tom (San Antonio) and Maximilian (TX) in 2015.

What we would like to do as a challenge for next season is to be able to set 5 days hunting trip and continue shooting ducks, unlimited doves and perdiz; and add as a plus for a great hunt, a day of becazine or snipe hunt. Some of our friends had tried this last season, and they had enjoyed, specially the Europeans, that are used to this type of hunt. So 2015 will be a new year and a new hunting experience, we hope you get some days off and will be able to make it happen. As always we will take care of all issues as nobody else can do. You know we are 24/7 ready to go hunt.

Also for next year, our entire guest will be able to enjoy our new menu, that well known chef Dimas had made for us. Please check the photos below regarding our new dishes. We have prepare a good mix on beef, pork and chiken; and we had work some new vegetables presentation to delightful our guest.

We will be up grading our lodge in October so we also expect to surprise all of you with a couple of innovations that will make San Javier Lodge a unique place for mixed bag hunt, and to cast and blast too. Remember that in this area we have also a fishing program for famous dorado, a great fishing program that had become very popular in the last seven years.

We are still at the airport in Santa Fe, we are almost finishing our last coffees till next hunting season; and we all agree to make a barbecue at night with Fabian, and all the hunting crew. That will be the best way to end up a great season. Probably Dimas will prepare some special side orders for us; and we will all have a great night.

We have already had some request for next year, and we have a couple of groups confirm for the next season. If it is in your plans a hassle free trip to mixed bag hunt to Argentina, do not hold on the line one more minute and send an email, so we provide you with all info an available dates to plan a unique hunting trip. Remember that Buenos Aires is a fantastic city with many international flights from NY, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Houston or LA. Then, as soon as you will land we will take care of all issues. And if you are ready to come hunting now, give us a call, remember that dove hunt season is open all year round in Cordoba.

We wish you all a great hunting season in US.

Thanks to keep in the loop
