Birds All Day Long

Cordoba is a beautiful province, especially if you enjoy outdoor activities. This time, we had the pleasure to welcome a party of funny hunters. They loved the trip and promised to come back soon!

The month of March has been a rainy one, however we said goodbye to it with an incredible group of hunters and an innumerable amount of doves!

I met Ron McClure and his friends  Christopher, James, and Thomas on their second day in Córdoba. They were staying at La Loma lodge. La Loma is a beautiful traditional Estancia built in 1908 by one of the wealthiest families in Argentina. The lodge is located about one hour north of Cordoba International Airport in the town of Totoral.

The plan was to take them to the lowlands, but as it was raining, we changed fields. It turned out to be an amazing day with many doves! In the morning, they hunted in separate posts. But after lunch, they asked to hunt in pairs. Honestly, they really had fun!

It was raining, so we had to put up a tent to have lunch. Mud was everywhere! Luckily, that didn’t prevent the group to have fun, and we could return to the lodge without problems.

The following day, we woke up to a rainy sky. Of course to us that wasn’t a problem at all. We work with many different fields, so we took our guests to one where it wasn’t rainy.

One particular thing I liked about this group is that they knew how to have fun and enjoy every single minute. So, however there weren’t many doves covering the sky, they had an incredible time! They competed against each other to see who was the first to shoot the dove flying by. They went on like this the whole day!

Michael McEver, the old Mike as I called him affectiously, joined the party of hunters on this day. He really got on with the group!

The fourth day, a new field was our destination. This time, La Para, North of Totoral city. There were thousands of birds in the sky, so much that Smokey and Tom shot 1000 doves each and they joined our 1000 doves Club!! After a delicious traditional asado at the field, our guests took a recovery nap in the hammocks. In the afternoon, we looked for the best posts! On that day, our dear friend Blake Larsen joined to this incredible party!

On the fifth day, Ron McClure and his friends left us after breakfast. We embarked upon a new adventure with Mike and Blake. After an hour drive, we arrived to a field in Rio Seco city. That morning, Mike shot 714 doves!!! He was so happy couldn’t believe his eyes!

On the last day of these groups, Blake didn’t join us. So, with Mike, we got to a field, I looked for the best post for him. He was thankful and very happy! We even took some pictures! With smiley and thankful clients, we closed another month.
