Birds Flying From All Directions
In February we received a group of three brothers who not only came to hunt doves but also to have fun. And did both greatly.
When you travel from the US to Argentina, the flight can be very exhausting. That is what happened to a group of three brothers who came in February. After a long flight, the group arrived at 11.30 a.m. and went straight to the hotel, they decided that hunting was not an option after so many hours in a plane. They were staying at Jesus Maria Deluxe Resort.
Ruben, Daniel and David are very nice people. They sat outside the hotel, enjoyed a delicious and cold white wine. We talked for a while and there they asked if it was possible for them to move to Agua Las Piedras lodge. Of course if was possible! So they were very thankful.
The next morning, the brothers were ready to hunt! Quietness is what characterizes the three of them. We left from the hotel and headed to the field. After 1 hour and a half of shooting, it was lunchtime!
They were amazed by the way the cookers made asado! Our traditional and Argentine barbecue. In a perfect Spanish they told us that the food was abundant and everything was delicious! After lunch, they retook the hunting, but this time in separate posts.
David did almost 500 shots in an hour! Meanwhile, Ruben enjoyed shooting from a sitting position and from beneath the shadow of a tree.
Once at Agua de Las Piedras Lodge, they were received with a delicious picada. After that, they took relaxing showers and their bodies were ready for massage sessions. Agua Las Piedras is the most beautiful and charming estancia you'll find. Located at a 50-minutes drive from Cordoba Airport, just by Totoral City on national road number 9, right on the heart of the largest dove roosts in Cordoba.
The following day, we left the hotel 9.30 a.m. and, this time, we went to the lowlands, near Jesus María city. There, the assistants were already waiting for us. The spots were strategically located beneath trees shadows, because the sun was at its strongest!
A funny thing about this brothers was that they listened to music and danced while hunting! They were so happy! They also competed against each other to see who was the one who could shot a dove which fell directly into the blind, and even invited their assistants into this competition.
After a long and funny shooting, we returned to the camp based. Gabi, one of the cooks, was waiting for them with brochettes of roasted dove accompanied with onion, peppers and bacon.
It was time for a battery charging nap in the hammocks. Once they recovered some energy, they got back to the field, to see who was the one who could shoot more doves!
At the lodge, we received them with a picada and some cold drinks. Then, they went to the swimming until it was time for their massages!
This was, for sure, an unforgettable trip for the three brothers! They were very thankful for everything, took pictures with the guides and assistants and promised to come back next year, in 2020.
What about you?
You should be the next one!
