Hunt Like You Never Did Before

It was another breezy day in Córdoba. The sun was out but it wasn’t overly hot. Clouds were moving in the distance, and the colours in the trees have began to change. Spring is getting closer...

At the beginning of September, we received three different groups.

Fred arrived on September 5th and spend the whole day visiting Córdoba on his own. This was his fifth or sixth year hunting with us. I was with him many many times on the field. In fact, I was the first assistant he has on his first trip with Pointer Outfitters, so we have a lot of confidence in each other. He’s a great guy and always travels by himself.

On the 6th, David picked him up at his hotel and drove him straight to the field.

At around 11:30 am of that same day, we welcomed Casey, Mark, David and Chase. They also went straight to the field. It was almost lunchtime, so they had our traditional asado upon their arrival!

At 02:00 pm, Harrison, Doug, Trent and Bart arrived. They also went from the airport to the field, ready to do an afternoon hunt.

All of them hunted in the lowlands in Jesús María, and stayed at La Loma lodge, which is a beautiful traditional Estancia built in 1908 by one of the wealthiest families in Argentina. The lodge is located about one hour north of Cordoba International Airport in the town of Totoral.

On their second day, we went hunting to the Córdoba Sierras; and their third and fourth day, we went to La Para, in the north of the province. The idea was to take the groups to different fields, so they could enjoy the beautiful landscapes our province has to offer, from the plains to the sierras.

In the morning of the third day, Harrison, Doug, Trent, Bart and Chase went to do a city tour in Córdoba. That same afternoon, they decided to relax and get some rest in the lodge, whereas Doug and Trent wanted to go to the field for an afternoon session, so we drove them to La Para.

In the evening, they decided to go out and have some drinks at a local bar in Totoral. I joined them together with Santiago. They had a lot of fun! They enjoyed the town’s nightlife, which is a lot more peaceful than a big city’s. They sat on a wide sidewalk just to do people watching. They also chatted with passers-by and asked them questions…. They really enjoyed themselves and had a great time! It was around midnight when we headed back to the lodge.

Harrison, Doug, Trent and Bart were all friends who, besides hunting, just wanted to have a good time. After their hunting trip, they were travelling to Buenos Aires, so they were more relaxed and not hunting as much as they could.

Casey, Mark, David and Chase were all family, and very focused on the hunting.

As for Fred, he travelled on his own. He shared anecdotes and experiences with the other hunters, but he was also very focused on his hunting and his goals. Nonetheless, all of them got along really well and they were all great hunters and, even better, good people.

And you... Would you like to be the next one?
