Enjoying a Great Hunt in Cordoba
From the 10th to the 14th of July, two couples visited us and decided to combine the fun of bird hunting with the tranquility of La Loma lodge.
Upon they arrival, Tom, Deborah, John and Katherine decided to avoid the cold mornings and hunt on the afternoons. So, on their first day they headed to the field at 11.30 in the morning, had the traditional asado for lunch, and began the afternoon shoot.
Just at first sight one could see they were an outgoing group of people, very respectful but extremely funny to be around with.
On their first afternoon, Deborah and Katherine shot 8 boxes each, while Tom and John shot 15 boxes. They couldn’t believe the amount of doves, so they kept on talking between each other and swapping places while shooting.
On their second day, the ladies decided to not hunt, but they came to the field to hang out with their husbands.
On their third day, they hunted to a field near the town of Totoral, that had been scouted the day before and that looked great. Unfortunately, that day doves were not flying much. They didn’t shoot what they were expecting to shoot, but had a great time anyway. After a while, we decided to change fields and it was a good call because there were thousands of doves!
On the fourth day, they hunted in the doves’ roost, close to Candelaria, a small town in the north of Córdoba, since they were amazed by the day before! Birds were flying a little bit higher, but they were having so much fun that they wanted to stay there.
They were impressed with the food, and they thanked Fede, the cook, for the wonderful asados he made for them during their stay.
Both couples stayed at La Loma lodge, a beautiful estancia built in 1908 located between the two most prized dove roost in Córdoba.
And you… Would you like to be the next one?
