Thousands of Doves And Memories
Hunting during the winter season might be very cold and a little tough, but when it comes to hunting some good friends is all you need just to make some lasting memories...
At the beginning of June, we received at our superb estancia La Loma Lodge, a group of six hunters made up of: Greg, the leader of the group, Damon and his two sons, Nicholas and Adam, Jeremy and JP.
All of them arrived from Buenos Aires, where they had been hunting duck for a few days before coming to Córdoba to do some Dove Hunt. As they had a really good experience in Buenos Aires, we did our best to keep it up!
In my opinion, I think they had an incredible days full with amazing hunts.
Although it was more calmer during the morning that it was during the afternoons, the hunting was excellent.
Usually, on the mornings, doves do what we call outing, which is when they fly from the roosts looking for food and water, which lasts two hours. We always try to get up early in the morning in order to be at the field at 8 a.m. and hunt for at least two hours, before the doves outing, which is when the birds volume decreases.
During the afternoons, there was a countless amount of doves! We always went to the lowlands, in the Jesús María’s area, the weather was fantastic, a little bit cold since it was winter but always sunny. It’s needless to say the hunting was perfect!
They were all young, therefore they were full of life and very funny! All of them, but specially JP, where ready early in the morning in such a good mood that it was contagious! They had such a good time between them as friends and with the field staff as well, competing and mocking each other. Damon shot with his two sons, Nicholas and Adam. He was very happy to be travelling with his friends, but also thankful to share that same experience with his sons.
As for the food, they were in love. The food was as great at the lodge as in the field. During the hunting, they always had lunch at the field, where they enjoyed our traditional asado.
Pork, beef and chicken were some of the varieties of meat they feasted on.
On their last night, they invited us, the field staff, to share some drinks with them. We spent the evening sharing stories, telling funny anecdotes, talking about our families and our jobs, our hunting trips… It was a truly warming evening with the whole team and this fantastic group of people.
And you… Would you like to be the next one?
