It Is A Hands Down Must Do

It was another sunny day here in Cordoba city when I went to the airport to pick this 10-close friends- group that, from what I’ve heard, was so excited to be hunting with us.

This time of year our hunts are carried out in the well- known area of the ??low fields, where we can find a large volume of doves flying. In the morning, they are used to fly towards the water (rivers area) and in the afternoon, they return to the roosts.

This is the first time in South America for this group - first time in Cordoba, to be exactly-  and they are great white tail, doves and duck hunters, as they told us on their first day, but this time they took the bull by the horns and decided to come, all together, the 10 of them, to hunt with us, in the best place for dove hunting in Argentina.

The second morning started really early. At 7 am the group was already having a huge breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit salad, orange juice, and everything you can imagine. After this amazing meal, they got their bags on the van and started their way to the field.

This time, La Loma Lodge has been chosen for this group, since it’s a very cozy and private lodge.

Let me tell you a little bit more about La Loma. Perfectly situated between the two most prized dove roosts in Cordoba, La Loma experience offers superb shooting year-round. It is a 60 minute drive from the airport; close to Totoral City on national road number 9.

This Famous Argentine Estancia has been renovated in 2014 and it is now one of the most requested destinations for Dove Hunting in Northern Cordoba. An excellent private lodge providing superior service.

La Loma is a beautiful traditional Estancia built in 1908 by one of the wealthiest families in Argentina. The lodge is located about one hour north of Cordoba International Airport in the town of Totoral. Situated next to the biggest dove roost in Argentina, the rides to the fields are a convenient 10 to 40 minutes. La Loma’s staff, the delicious Argentine meals, as well as copious amounts of doves are combine to make this a very memorable dove-shooting trip.

When our new friends got to the field, they met their field assistants and went straight to the shooting area. In this time of the year, it is very important that our clients bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent, as well as ear protection, sunglasses and gloves.

Our customers were pleased to use ours new Benelli shotguns montefeltro 20 cal. They are our workhorses and the only weapons that carry on like no other the pressure of Cordoba’s high volume hunting. Million of shells a year!

They were also surprised by its comfort when shooting over 2000 thousand rounds a day. They Have Been shooting 20 gauge ammunition 7, which is one of the best ammunition for the sport of shooting doves. We also use regular ammunition ½ or 7 and 8 and loads of gunpowder in our cartridges are of 25 grams.

We have a wide variety of shotguns: Let us talk about the Benelli Montefeltro.

Benelli’s Montefeltro shotgun features a slim, graceful forend, which, combined with an anodized, lightweight receiver, keeps the weight minimal and the swing quick.

It has an Ultra-reliable Inertia Driven® system. An Inertia-Driven® System shotgun is clean, reliable, and adjustment-free.We have them available in 12- and 20-gauge, we do not have any with Left hand configurations. We like it a lot the Low-profile rib.

After a morning of intense shooting, our guests got closer to the camp, where our cook was preparing an amazing lunch for everyone to enjoy.

Argentine barbecue is the main character of the day. Ribs, sausage, loin, doves in red wine, everything was ready for this very special group.

Lunch was finished and they decided to take a quick nap on the hammocks that we place under the shade of huge trees, before starting the afternoon hunt as we usually do.

Overall, it was a very good day. They were able to reach the thousand doves a day! On our way back to the lodge you could tell they were very happy and amazed by the amount of doves we have in Cordoba.

Vicky, their hostess, was waiting for them at the lodge, along with the rest of the staff, with some appetizers and drinks so they can relax after such a great but tiring day. They told me it was a unique experience, from the great hunt to the good care everyone took of them.

See you soon!

You should be the next one!
