The Rain Wont Stop Them
One of the guys from this group said “There was not even a moment, not even one, where I stopped to wonder 'where are the birds?' Quite the opposite, the were more and more and more birds every day!" This group arrived at midday, just in time for a delicious lunch and a great afternoon hunt in Los Quebrachos field.
After lunch, we introduced them to their field assistants and not long after that, they were enjoying their first hunt in Cordoba, Argentina. They were surprised and impressed even before they started the hunt, so image how they felt when they actually started it! They wanted to make the most of every minute in Argentina, to compensate for so many hunts in the States where they couldn’t enjoy big volume birds.
That afternoon when we decided to finish the day, we drove them to La Loma Lodge. The staff there always welcomes the new guests with nice cocktails. That day, it was an orange flavoured one with the traditional beef empanadas. The Walker brothers were excited to break the news to family and friends: the birds in Cordoba are unbelievable!
The next morning we left the lodge early to have a good good, full morning. Our guests had brought presents for the field assistants: T shirts and caps in return for an outstanding service, they said. The field assistants in turn were cheering them so that they could get to the thousand birds in a day but they said they were here for the fun, the experience, the moment shared with friends, the new people they would meet… If they made it to the 1000 mark, cool, but if not, having a great time was what counted! They wanted to come back, with more friends! The chef’s food surprised them everyday, too!
For the last afternoon they got together on the same spot and had a competition between them and the assistants. So much fun! We heard laughter and told anecdotes and shared stories with Gaby the chef, too. They had pictures taken with their field assistants and the pile of birds! Then, time to say goodbye.
We hope to see them around soon...
You should be the next one!
