NEWS & REPORTS
Our Million Doves Shooters
Dustin and his very good friend Bryan arrived at Cordoba in the morning. I welcomed them in the airport, helped them with their luggage and told them that our fields were just 40 minutes away. There we were going to have a hearty lunch and then we were going to start hunting.
This is what we usually do when our guests arrive in the morning or afternoon, go straight to the field and see what they have been waiting for all this time!
David is the chef in charge in this group and he has prepared a delicious asado to welcome our guests. Preparing a barbeque is like a ritual and our chefs take great pride in this process, cooking the meat to perfection. David, with his wide grin, greets Dustin and Bryan and offers them some appetizers: dove breast wrapped in onion and bacon. The delicious Argentine beef, pork and chicken, too. Why not? A wide variety of salads and Malbec wine. What a better way to welcome our guests to our country!
Dustin and Bryan are very good hunters with loads of experience in the field. I offer Dustin our shotguns Beretta Silver Pigion Cal 28. These guns have had a wide acceptance among our guests and Dustin really enjoyed its performance. Bryan, on the other hand, is a big fan of semiautomatic guns. Safety speech first, then they’re ready to go!
At about 3.30 pm, the birds start returning to their roosts. At tis time of year, birds migrate to the fields in lower areas during the day looking for food, mainly in fields being harvested. At this time of year, winter in Argentina, some corn fields are still being harvested.
Tata and Santiago are the field assistants chosen for our guests. With these two, fun is guaranteed in the field!
Three hours and a half later, our guests have fired more than 750 shots each! They approach me and tell me that the volume of birds is just amazing. The field service is equally amazing and they were not expecting such a big display for lunch! Our guests have been hunting in Argentina and Uruguay, too many times but they still feel surprised with every trip. They mentioned that with all Pointer Outfitters team, they felt very well assisted at every portion of the trip.
By the end of the day, we drive them to La Loma Lodge. Paola, our lodge manager, already has everything ready for them. Snacks and drinks by the fire pit and the massage therapists waiting for each guest. Some muscle relaxation was so very needed after such an intense day of hunting! Loads of shells and birds.
By the end of the trip, Dustin invited us to his ranch in Texas and his fishing lodge to fish blue marlin. He sad we had become fiends now! To us, this means a lot! We highly appreciate all our guests words of gratitude, encouragement, and suggestions too. It’s our pleasure to work better and better each day.
Couple of days later, we got this email froom Dustin. Read about the experience in his own words!
Good morning, it was a pleasure to finally meet you. We had an amazing time and halls operation there in Córdoba is second to none. I hope to see all of you again sooner then later. Words can not express the great time we had and the level of service your staff provided. I am already in the works with several people interested in coming to hunt with y'all.
I was curious to if you could please email me a copy of the bird count and she'll count information for bragging purposes?
Thanks,
Dustin McRay
