Outside you can feel the warm morning waiting for us and so we know that it’s going to be a beautiful day out there. Breakfast is ready for everyone in the room, as La Loma lodge is the perfect place for our clients to feel at home since it is a Famous Argentine Estancia that has been renovated in 2014 and it is now one of the most request destinations for Dove Hunting in Northern Cordoba because of its excellent private lodging and superior service.

Let me tell you more about this spectacular lodge. La Loma is a beautiful traditional Estancia built in 1908 by one of the wealthiest families in Argentina. The lodge is located about one hour north of Cordoba International Airport in the town of Totoral. Situated next to the biggest dove roost in Argentina, the rides to the fields are a convenient 10 to 40 minutes. La Loma’s staff, the delicious Argentine meals, and copious amounts of doves combine to make this a very memorable dove-shooting trip.

After talking a little bit about the program, it’s 8:30 am. and we are all ready to leave La Loma in our comfortable Mercedes-Benz van , and go straight to the field, located 30 minutes away from the lodge.

We are totally ready to have a great day. Shotguns, cartridges, camping equipment, everything set up for our trip.

As soon as we get to the field, all of our assistants are full of beans waiting for us.

The field is filled with doves everywhere and I can feel the shots coming in about five minutes.

Now it’s time to check the position of every single client, so we can be sure they are in the right spot to start the shooting. We can tell our guests are really happy about the performance of our Benelli Montefeltro cal 20 shotguns and cartridges (which are working very well). This shotgun features a slim, graceful forend, which, combined with an anodized, lightweight receiver, keeps the weight minimal and the swing quick. When talking about its benchmark of reliability, Inertia-Driven® System is clean, reliable, and adjustment-free. 

Now, we just have to check up on some details with our professional field assistants and we are ready to start the hunting.

From time to time, I like visiting my dear friend Park, and talking about the good old days when we used to go to shooting competitions. We had so much fun; it’s been eight years since we went to one of those for the last time.

A couple of hours later, I welcomed the first guest to the food tent. 

Me and my friend are waiting for an special appetizer that our excellent chef Federico is preparing for us. A glass of wine and some tasty doves with the traditional sauce Chimichurri, well-known as chimichanga, it’s making our clients feel as if they were in paradise.

At 3:30 pm. we have our first flying doves, which means that it’s time to start. In summer season, these flights start later than other times of the year. Our field assistants are ready with each shotgun nice and clean waiting for our clients to get in position at the right shooting spot.

The sun is coming down and we just received the first radio call telling us that some of our clients have finished the shooting.

When arriving to the lodge, Paola and Gisela are waiting for us to make a toast since it was an incredible day at the field and, after taking a bath and maybe a relaxing massage, we are ready to have dinner.

Before bed, i’m gonna leave everything ready for a new day.
