The Best Dove Hunting in the World

This trip was a very special one for these guys. They had been dreaming about coming down to Argentina all together for a long while, and you know, sometimes life can get hectic and it is difficult to agree on a date in which all of the interested travelers can make it.

So one of them went ahead, bought one of Pointer donation vouchers and booked the dates and told his friends, Ok guys, get ready cause we are going to Argentina in July! Kyle and Brad Young, Billy Gannon, Cullen Aderhold and Drew Swedlund visited us in July. We were anxiously waiting for them and the first susprise was that one of them had lived in Argentina a couple of years ago, so he was very, very excited to be back and to enjoy all the greatness of Cordoba.

Even though it is snowing in some parts of Argentina at this timie of year, in Cordoba the sun was shining bright for our hunters. No sooner we had all the luggage we took them straight to the field. Our chef Gaby had prepared delicious dove appetizers, good wine was served and ice cold drinks. What a welcome!

The hunting fields we were visiting and would visit in the coming days were in the east of the province of Cordoba, where the flow of birds is beyond your expectations and beyond the most exaggerated description of birds in Argentina. The area is surrounded by sorghum and corn fields, rivers and bird roosts. All the field assistants were in their blinds with the requested guns, Benellis, semi automatic cal 20. Great choice for birds in Cordoba!

Brad specially asked me to coach him to have a better shooting accuracy. One of the most common mistakes that we all make when birdshooting is lowering the arm when we shoot to the right, which results in the ammunitions going over the bird. It is very important to be standing comfortably, and have the feet free to move them. A steady position is also important to have better balance when shooting.

Brad also told us about his experience with volunteer work in impoverished areas of South America. Because of this experience he had, he was very interested in knowing more about Soaring Argentina, our nonprofit organization devoted to help the poorest rural areas and schools of the northern province of Cordoba through our guests donations, either money or clothes, medical and school supplies. We already have another volunteer in our list! Throughout the year, different missions are organized to visit the schools and families and take the donations.

Our guests have achieved really good numbers, both in terms of birds and shells! Our guests asked for massage when we got back to La Loma Lodge. After an intense day, an intense rest!

Paola, La Loma Lodge manager, was behind every special detail, and was waiting for us with appetizers and drinks. Our guests were crazy lovers of Malbec wine and did not missed the opportunity of enjoying it while in the land of Malbec, sharing annecdotes by the fire pit in the cold evenings.

That evening our guests shared the dinner with Pablo, who had come to greet them. With Pablo, our guests laughed till the tears while enjoying a delicious dinner, tenderloin with a pumpkin soufflé.

When it was time to say goodbye, our guests promised to come back with more friends, and why not, wives!

You should be the next one!
