Hunting in Paradise

The flight landed on time and our guests Jory, Dustin, Michael and Gregory had the beers ready for the one hour drive that separated us from the lodge. They were excited to start this trip and to see what every good hunter talks about: doves in Argentina.

Plaza Real Lodge was waiting for them, comfortable facilities in one of the best located lodges for wing shooting. Comfortable driving distances from the airport and to the fields.  This totally renovated and stylish hotel surrounded by farmland provides excellent and new accommodations to make your trip special. Argentina dove hunting reviews mention this unique place as a great option for wingshooters from all over the world.

The following morning we met them at Plaza Real Lodge. After a filling breakfast of eggs, bacon, cereal, milk, yogurt and fruit, we were ready to leave. In our comfortable Mercedez Benz Van, we drove our guests to a field just 25 minutes away from the lodge. El bajo de Jesus Maria is the name of the place, a very prolific area at this time of year because it is surrounded by crops of soy bean, corn and sorghum. We also see some fields of chickpeas. Our fields are strategically located in areas where the birds have food, water, and their roosts nearby. With about 500 to 700 hectares of bush, there’s a constant flow of birds both in the morning as in the afternoon. This makes it easy for our guests to become members of the 1000 doves club! If they shoot down more than a thousand birds, we give them the 1000 doves shirt as a present!

When we get to the field, our staff is waiting for us. It is a pleasure for us to receive them with our operation and show them the best of what we have to offer. Our guests want to try our brand new shotguns, the Berettas cal 400. They’re a novelty. We also have the traditional guns cal 20 Benelli Montefeltro, M1 and Beretta cal 12, Urika and Benelli super sport. Our guests liked them very much. But guns wise, this is not it. We also have the ne Beretta Silver Pigeons cal 28 and Brownings 525 cal 410; our jewels.

There’s something very special about this group. Their shooting percentage is above 70% average! Great hunters, indeed!

Let's talk about lunch for a minute here: The feast usually begins with bacon wrapped dove breast and a light salad, accompanied by the famous Argentinean Malbec wine. The next course, is the famous Asado: pork ribs cooked to perfection, chicken breast and thigh; lightly seasoned with lime and salt. Tenderloin, pink in the center, extremely moist seasoned with pepper. We present our guests with a variety of meat types and cuts. Lastly, delicious desert, it was just what everyone needed. Having finished the meal, our guests usually sit around and conversed a little longer before heading back out to the field, or they take a shot nap in the hammocks hung by the trees.

TWe offer our guests the posssibility to have massages when they get back to the lodge. 45 minutes of massage by our professional massage therapists, an option few of our guests miss after such a big volume of birds shot down. The staff of Pointer Outfitters is waiting for them at Plaza Real to offer them the best service.

You should be the next one!
