Feathers in the Air

Hunting in Argentina is awesome all year round, but our guests have chosen the Fall to come to this country which offers amazing hunting experiences. We welcome Chad, Augusto, Kevin, Bill, Tim, and Don. They are all friends who met because their kids attend the same school.

Most of them are from Dallas, but Augusto is Argentinian and this makes the trip very special for him and the whole group. Before hunting in Cordoba, they spent some days in Buenos Aires, visiting its traditional neighbourhoods, monuments and great barbeque places.

A representative of our team picked them up from the airport and we were anxiously waiting for them at the field. Our chef Gabriel Pedercini had prepared delicious dove appetizers, which vary every day and usually feature dove tacos, dove skewers, and  dove stir fry among others. The best Malbec wine of Argentina is also part of the lunch where our guests enjoy our traditional barbeques featuring different meat types and meat cuts. Desert is unique, prepared by our traditional cook Mary, lunches are spent under the shade of our typical algarrobo trees.

After a short nap for our guests to recover some energy the afternoon hunting session starts. We anticipate the volume of bird is gonna be incredible. And we are not wrong, we do not have to wait long to start seeing them flying all over the field. Our guests enjoy a great afternoon session in their first day at the field, anticipating how the rest of the days will be. Our field assistants play some music from the 80’s, and dancing, singing, shooting, joking, the afternoon goes by incredibly fast.

At Plaza Real Lodge, where our guests are staying the rest of their time in Argentina, more appetizers and good wine are already set by the firepit. There’s a moment of relaxation and our guests enjoy massage by professional massage therapists. They spend the nighs singing and laughing and sharing annecdotes.

Our guests can choose among a wide variety of guns that we have to offer. Berettas and Benellis are offered, most of them are 20-gauge semi-automatic Benelli Monte Feltros or Beretta Urekas. If a guest is more confortable shooting a different gauge or prefers an over-under, Pointer can accommodate these requests. We have shotguns in gauges 4-10, 28, 20, and 12 and an assortment of Beretta Silver Pigeon and Browning Citori over-unders. Each night after the hunt, the field staff breaks down every gun to the firing pin to and given an extensive cleaning. This guarantees that every hunter will begin the day with a well-oiled, jam-free shotgun. Our guns show an outstanding performance, even when firing more then 2 thousands shots a day!

The next day a delicious breakfast will be ready for them, American breakfasts prepared in the argentine way. Scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee and toasts. Martin, the guide, picks them up and a new hunting day starts. So much fun awaits!

You should be the next one!
